The Secret Life of Buildings is an ongoing body of moving image artworks by Richard Bolam.
The first one in the series is called “The Eye and the Sky” and was shot in 2008, and was funded by the now defunkt Seagate Creative Fund. It was also supported in kind by Sheffield Hallam University who allowed me 2 weeks access to their building, and Lovebytes who donated obsolete equipment from their media lab.
I gathered a lot of material at that time and subsequently made 5 more videos, experimenting with different treatments of the same material.
